How myhowtown.lol works

myhowtown.lol is a live city popularity vote for hometowns across the Americas. Visitors can explore participating cities, compare their current vote totals, and support the places they love. The ranking covers cities in North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. Every valid vote updates the public leaderboard, so the order can change as local communities join in.

How do I vote for a city?

Use the map, city search, or regional filters to find a hometown. Select Vote +1 on its ranking row to add a free vote. You can follow the city's position and vote total on the same live leaderboard. A payment is not required to cast a standard city vote.

What is a City Chief?

A City Chief is the supporter currently holding a city's featured badge. Every city begins with a $1 claim price. After a completed claim, the next takeover price increases by exactly $1. The current Chief may publish a short hometown message and links to selected social profiles until another supporter completes the next takeover.

How is the city ranking calculated?

Cities are ordered by the number of votes recorded for them. The popularity bar compares each city with the current leader, while the vote total shows the underlying count. Chief payments do not add votes or determine ranking position; voting and the optional Chief feature are separate parts of the site.

Which places are included?

The project focuses on cities throughout the Americas. You can browse the full list or narrow it to North America, Central America, the Caribbean, or South America. Search accepts both city and country names, making it easier to locate a hometown even as the participating list grows.
