CITY VOTING, EXPLAINED
What is a City Chief?
City Chief is an optional paid profile badge on myhowtown.lol. It is not an official government role or an extra vote.
A featured supporter
The current City Chief can feature a short hometown message and selected social links on the platform. ‘Chief’ is a product label for a supporter. It does not create a relationship with a city government, establish residency, or confer authority to represent local people.
The price ladder
An unclaimed city starts at $1. Each completed takeover raises the next price by exactly $1. Check the live checkout interface for the current price rather than relying on an old screenshot or search excerpt. The badge can pass to a later supporter who completes the next takeover.
Separate from the vote
Buying a badge does not add to the city's vote total or buy a higher position in the popularity ranking. You can vote without buying a Chief profile. If you share a profile, describe it as a platform feature rather than a civic appointment.
