CITY VOTING, EXPLAINED
How to share or cite a city ranking
Use a permanent city link, include the time checked, and describe the result as an open community vote.
Link to the exact city
Open the city's profile from the directory and copy its URL. That link provides local context and a current snapshot when reopened. It is more useful than an image of a leaderboard row that may be out of date and may omit the city’s country.
Describe the source and date
A suitable attribution is: ‘According to the myhowtown.lol community vote, checked on [date and time], [city] had [vote total] recorded votes.’ Fill those fields from the page you actually viewed. Do not reuse sample numbers, invent historical trends, or imply independent verification of voter identities.
Keep promotion honest
Ask people to participate voluntarily and follow the voting rules. Do not describe the platform badge as a government endorsement, claim that votes measure safety or quality of life, or present a small participation gap as proof that one community is less valued. Context makes a shared result more useful.
